When growing your business, do you find it hard to be found
online? Have you spent money to advertise online to get very

to how we have grown our publishing company Whosoever 
Press Publishing and Printing to what it is today in only 6 
years worth of time.
Success in any business requires you to take enough action. I
recently read a great book titled, “Home Run Financial Planning,”
by Steve and Adam Straseske. In the book it said, “If you don’t 
take action, all the planning in the world is worthless. 
Intentions without action do not produce results.” I 
completely agree with this statement. I wrote a book a 
few years ago title, “Success Requires Action,” and I 
spoke about how I had grown my company with no 
money. The book was a hit with all who 
read it, so when I read this line in Steve and Adam’s book, it 
was just a reminder to me that success requires action.
The key principle I want to share with you is:
Success Requires Action!Regardless of the industry you
are in, you have to make the phone calls. You have to
send the emails and you have to show up. You can’t
sit in the office all day and expect people to just show
up. I wish it were that easy. I tried it that way for a
long time, and I about lost everything I owned. I
had a great product to offer people, and I paid the
money to open a store front here in our town. Did
the store front help my company? No it didn’t.
Within a year’s time, we had five people walk in
off the street. We lost money on the office after
paying rent. The one thing that propelled my
company to financial success was when I decided
to create a catalog of the products and services I could provide to business owners in my town. I printed hundreds of these 32 page catalogs on my home printer and stapled them together. I literally got in my truck and drove door-to-door speaking with business owners and managers asking them for their business. Of all the money I spent on marketing and advertising, nothing worked as well as being face to face with business owners. The point is, get in front of your target market.
We have spent thousands of dollars on advertising across Facebook, Google, YouTube, Twitter and other online platforms. All of these platforms gave us some type of return for our money. That is if you consider a LIKE on your Facebook page an legitimate lead. No, I don’t think so either.
However, I will say that out of all the online advertising we did, we always received a positive response from YouTube ads. Anytime we have ever ran a YouTube video ad, someone has called us. Did it always turn into a sale? Not always, but YouTube has generated us about $6000.00 within a six year span. The interesting thing about the sales we received wasn’t from the ads we ran. They were from people seeing the videos we posted. If I had to say there is a key #2, then it would definitely be this: Start posting videos on YouTube.
As time has gone on, we noticed we were spending a lot of money printing these catalogs. Even though they were generating leads and sales, we were spending way too much money. We were able to condense our 32 page catalog down to a single brochure. We placed our highest selling products in the brochure, and now we push people to our website. Out of all the print companies in the world, why did we think it was a great idea for us to start another one? The answer is really simple to be honest. We have partnered with different print companies all across the United States. By doing this, we can take a loss on certain products to provide a better price to our clients. We have other products that we offer at a higher percentage that allows us to make larger profits, and on these particular products, we are still about 50% cheaper than other companies. What we have done with our print company is quite genius.

How Content Marketing Can Make You Invincible

Since 2012, I have grown my company Whosoever Press with a zero dollar advertising budget. I have had to rely upon the concept of “Free” to accomplish results in advertising and marketing. In 2015, I discovered Content Marketing, and how it could help me grow my business for free.
Content can be digital or physically printed items. Content consists of writing and publishing articles online on a blog or forum. Also, YouTube videos are a form of Content Marketing. Creating digital memes to share across social media platforms is another way of creating digital content. Any kind of digital content is tracked and ranked by Google in their search results. For an easier experience with memes, make sure you add your website and company name on the image. You can also print hashtags on the image. I would suggest placing the hashtags at the bottom of the image here they won’t be in the way of your main image. When you share these images in your blog posts, websites and social media accounts, Google will track and collect your images and tag them to your company name. Now when someone searches your company name, your images will appear. While this is great for building your online presence, you want your content to not only show up under your name in search results, but also under the category for your type of business. For example, Whosoever Press is a self-publishing company, and so when writers start searching for a publisher online, we want our company to show up in the search results.



I write an article every day. That article then becomes a YouTube video that I later convert to an audio podcast. That podcast then becomes an episode on my syndicated radio show. With every article I write, I also create a digital meme for marketing use across my social media platforms. One article that took me 15 minutes to write has become five different pieces of digital content. Say I take that same article and include it in my next book. I have now made six pieces of content from one article. What if I publish the article in a local newspaper or magazine? What makes it even better is that Google will track and rank each of these pieces of digital content. I once wrote an article on Partnership Marketing, and within just a few days, it was showing up on the first page of the Google search results.
Online content properly tagged with the correct keywords, becomes free online advertising for you and your company. This is called SEO or search engine optimization. The biggest problem any business will ever face is obscurity. No one knows who you are. You need to think in God-sized proportions when it comes to advertising. You have to focus on becoming omnipresent. You must be everywhere at once. Instead of spending thousands of dollars advertising your business, you should be focusing on producing content. Another form of content is simply designing and printing flyers to distribute door to door in your town. I personally keep a list of all the festivals going on in our state and the surrounding states. I personally travel and hand out thousands of promotional flyers every month promoting my company. Producing and distributing enough content, could make your company invincible.

CONTENT MARKETING: Is the act of creating and distributing physical and/or digital material to raise awareness for your cause. You are not paying to advertise. You are paying for content to be created and distributed.

When we started our new product line, we created a 30 page catalog that showed our products, services and prices. We have printed and distributed thousands of these catalogs within just 3 years. At some point, you have to up your game and take more action. Between July and December 2018, we will print and distribute 100,000 catalogs around the surrounding states. I’m always trying to figure out new ways to get my message in front on more people. In the past, I have even purchased email lists from companies online, only to get a list of old and outdated contacts. I started to realize that many businesses have and operate a Facebook page. No, I’m not telling you to purchase Facebook ads. There’s a better way!

Even if a business has hired a firm to operate their page, the company still places their contact information on the about page. This includes in many cases their mailing address, phone number, email, website and a contact name.

In the search tab at the top of your Facebook screen, you can type in things like, “Businesses near me,” Businesses in ‘Insert Your State’,” “Coffee Shops in ‘Insert Your State’.” Make sure when the results appear that you click on the option at the top of the screen for pages. You will then see hundreds of individual business pages. Once you click on a business, it will pull up their profile. Click on the “ABOUT” tab to the left of your screen. Here you will find all of their contact information.

I would suggest that you reach out to them and explain how you found their information, and that you would like to share with them how you can help them with their business.

FOLLOW UP: Follow up is key to any marketing campaign. As a business owner yourself, you will agree with me when I say, business owners are busy. They may have loved your email or package, but forgot to contact you. Follow up is the key to locking in a deal. Most Sales Reps never follow up with the client. Don’t let your marketing efforts fall through the cracks by not following up with a potential client.
