Whosoever Press // Book Publishing Companies // 3 Reasons Why Most Self-Published Books Fail (2018)

Nate Fortner

Have you considered Self-Publishing your own book? Maybe you already have, and you’re frustrated because it’s not selling. I’m going to show you the three main reasons why your book isn’t selling, and I’m going to teach you how to turn your book sales upside down.

The #1 reason why your book isn’t selling is because not enough people know it exists!

You must gain attention for your book. You can’t write a book, and expect it to start flying off of store shelves without the proper support. You have to let people know that your book is available for purchase, and highlight points of interest. Show them how the knowledge in your book will change their lives.

The #2 reason why your book isn’t selling is because your lack of motivation!

Just admit the fact that you aren’t motivated enough. You probably started out well, but soon as you faced negativity from someone, you started backing off. You must stay motivated, and focused on creating success for your book.

The #3 reason why your book isn’t selling is a lack of money to market and promote.

You need money to advertise your book to the world. Whether you’re on a limited income, or you work a full-time job, you need advertising money.

I’m going to teach you everything you need to know about marketing and promoting in my new book “Success Requires Action.”

Get the digital copy now at WhosoeverPress.com for only $10.00. The paperback will be $19.99 when it’s released.

The Making of a #1 Best Seller

The Making of a #1 Best Seller

Nate Fortner

Have you ever wondered how to make your book a #1 Best Seller? The answer is simple, but the process you choose to make it happen may not be so simple. The answer to making any book a #1 Best Seller is to have books flying off of the shelves. Sounds easy enough don’t you think? You must be getting a ton of attention. You need to make sure your book is getting distribution, and then, people must know your book exists.

Writing your book was the easy part. Selling it is the hard part. Make sure to get as much publicity as possible. Learn to become omnipresent, and push for celebrity status in your town. Once you’ve established yourself as a local celebrity, start expanding your reach. If you ever expect your book to take off and be a success, you must get attention.

Marketing is going to require you to be creative. You must stand out, or at least a head taller than everyone else. You need a mob rushing into bookstores nationwide buying your books when they release. You can read any book on marketing and advertising that you want, but I assure you, they will all tell you the same thing. Your message must constantly be in the sight and mind of your target market.

Go ahead and tear down the walls of doubt, and get committed to success! Marketing and promoting your book is like eating. You have to do it every day if you want to gain energy. Pour your heart into it. There is no marketing miracle cure. There is no secret to selling millions of copies instantaneously. You must live to market, and market to win! “Word of Mouth” will never make you a #1 Best Seller! “Word of Mouth” and “Getting Attention” are almost the same, but they’re not. “Word of Mouth” means people are talking about you. “Getting Attention” is putting your message into their face whether they want to see it or not. “Word of Mouth,” can also hurt you. It just takes one bad egg to ruin the bunch. Make sure you are creating the buzz you want people to know about your book. You need to push hard every day!

You must sell people on the idea that your book will solve the problems they are currently facing in their lives, business, etc. It’s time to leave your mark on this planet. Make sure people know who you are, even if it requires you standing on the street with a cardboard sign saying you’ll read for $1.00. You must make a commitment to live a life dedicated to making sure your book sits on every coffee table, is in every doctor’s office, is in every hotel room, and every prisoner has read your book. You want people chanting your name in the streets and from the roof tops. You must be purpose driven!

“May the Lord give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.”  Psalm 20:3

The Broken Trap Called God

The Broken Trap Called God

Nate Fortner

If God desires for us to be successful, then it will happen, Amen? Wrong! I do believe that God does want us to live meaningful success-filled lives, but I believe He expects us to work for our victories. I could point you to countless stories in Bible where God said, “Go!” I recall in the book of Genesis where God kicked Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden. What did He tell them? “Go!” Go and till the land, work hard and sweat. A little further in Genesis, we read the account of Noah and the Ark. God told Noah that the rain was coming, and he needed to build a boat. God gave Noah an instruction. In the New Testament, Jesus told Naaman to go dip seven times in Jordan before he could receive healing. At the end of The Gospels, Jesus gives His disciples another instruction. As He’s ascending into the clouds, He says, “GO!”

This is the broken mindset that has hit many Americans today, and especially lazy Christians! Before you start bashing me for calling you a lazy Christian, I used to be one, but then, I woke up and realized that God didn’t call me to be lazy. He called me to be successful in all that I set my mind to achieve. He called me to be different. He didn’t create me, call me, and train me just to fit in with the crowd. Oh, wait a minute. Isn’t that what He’s called all Christians to do, be different? The point is, so many people, Christians or not, are blaming God for their laziness!

Laziness is a sin by the way. Thinking that God is going to magically turn everything we touch into gold is a trap. God expects you to work hard to attain success in your life. Don’t fall prey to this broken trap mindset. The broken trap really isn’t broken. The trap is set, the spring is loaded, and you will get caught if you don’t get your head in the game! The broken trap is more of a mindset than anything. Don’t think that God’s just going to hand success over to you. Yes, you better be praying and asking for wisdom to make wise decisions for your business. If you fail in your business, your family will pay the price for your laziness. Get out of this trap, and stop blaming Jesus! Success Isn’t Free! Success Isn’t Given! Success Isn’t even Earned! It’s Made!

Poor Is No Excuse!

Poor Is No Excuse!

Nate Fortner

Slow down and take a break. You work way too hard and too much. Enjoy yourself a little bit. I personally hate being told to slow down because it infuriates me when the people closest to me don’t understand my drive. Growing up poor, I know what it’s like to not have enough money. I remember as a kid, the only time we went out for French fries or ice cream was on Wednesday nights after church because it was free for Kids Club members. Without even telling you the name of the next restaurant, we ate at the Captain’s house every Thursday evening because kids ate free. I now hate seafood. I can’t stand the smell of fish! I want to hurl when I smell the scent of dead fish!

Growing up poor has played such a major roll in my life to push for success. I want success in my life. I want success in my life, my family, my business, my church, and every aspect of my life. I’ve been told by countless people that they admire my ambition, and go-getter attitude, but tell me I need to slow down because I make people nervous. I’m committed to success, and I’ll never stop reaching for my goals! I’m so committed to success that my blood platelets fight and push the others out of the way racing to keep me pumping at full speed. When I bleed, my blood screams winner!

I refuse to slow down or give up on my dreams! I will never stop or give up on myself. I will stay focused and committed to my success! Growing up, we were so poor that I still have the taste of Ketchup in my mouth from all the ketchup sandwiches we would eat. I know what poor looks like, but my parents struggled to make life the best it could be for me and my sister. We grew up with great parents who loved us.

Want to understand my drive? None of us are promised tomorrow. Today is all we’ve got, so we need to make today count! Today is the day the Lord has made, and we better make it count! Success isn’t free. Success isn’t given. Success isn’t even earned. It’s made! Focus and get committed to success!

You need to have a force pushing you and driving you to achieve success. Stop crying and blaming others for why you’re a loser in business. Wake up with a mindset to win and do whatever it takes!
